Magnolia Electric Co. is back with their fifth full-length album Josephine, an homage to the life of touring bassist Evan Farrell who passed away unexpectedly in 2007. Josephine is a well-crafted, roots-based Americana album that showcases a softer, sparser sound than found on previous releases while expanding on themes of loneliness, mortality and loss in a poignant and straightforward fashion. Josephine is a consistent addition to Magnolia Electric Co.’s discography and delivers some of their most accomplished and emotive songs to date. Due out on July 21st.
