London-based collective Fanfarlo mixes folk with orchestrated indie pop, drawing comparisons to Beirut, Arcade Fire and Belle and Sebastian. Their full-length debut Reservoir is carefully orchestrated with instrumentation that includes accordion, clarinet, glockenspiel, mandolin, melodica, saw, sax, trumpet and violin, plus guitars, bass and drums. Centered around Swedish musician Simon Balthazar’s songwriting which is arranged thoughtfully to achieve an intricately layered and atmospheric sound.
