Pure Bathing Culture – Pure Bathing Culture

Duo Daniel Hindman (guitar) and Sarah Versprille (vocals, keys) are Pure Bathing Culture, a duo whose eponymous debut EP features four lush pop songs. The two met while attending an elite jazz program in college, and have been writing songs together in Brooklyn, NY since 2009 and touring with the folk-pop group Vetiver. In 2011 they moved to Portland, where they became highly influenced by New Age spirituality, impacting their approach, songwriting, and finish. Local luminary musician and producer Richard Swift (Damien Jurado, The Mynabirds) teamed up immediately, and Pure Bathing Culture, in all its dream-pop and drum machine aided glory, was born. They played a fantastic show Thursday night at Pickathon; it was one of those unexpectedly wonderful experiences when you don’t know the band going into the show and walk away transfixed.
