It has been nearly five years since Lou Barlow released Emoh (his acoustic record) and during that time he has reunited with Dinosaur Jr. and reissued three Sebadoh albums. Goodnight Unknown is the return of Barlow with a new batch of infectiously melodic pop tunes. Recorded in an impromptu manner to capture an in-the-moment sound and produced with friends Imaad Wasif (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, touring guitarist), Dale Crover (Melvins, drummer), and Andrew Murdock/Lisa Germano (producers), Goodnight Unknown according to Barlow himself is “a cross between my later work with Folk Implosion and my earlier work with Sebadoh.” To be released on October 6 by Merge Records.
