Bon Iver’s debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago put Justin Vernon on the map with his much-feted folk album. So fans may be surprised to hear Volcano Choir, an experimental side project between Vernon and fellow Wisconsin band, Collections of Colonies of Bees. What they have created with Unmap may surprise Bon Iver fans, but hopefully they won’t be deterred from the sparse lyrics and lack of hooks.
