Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, the two stars of 2007’s indie hit film Once, were the feel good story of the Oscars, winning the Academy Award for their song, “Falling Slowly.” The two fell in love in real life, formed The Swell Season and soon released a self-titled debut. Hansard and Irglová’s romantic relationship has since ended, but it hasn’t meant the end for The Swell Season. Strict Joy is a new collection of songs that have Hansard’s passionate voice and acoustic guitar and Irglová’s more delicate vocals and piano.
