THE JIM JONES REVUE | THE JIM JONES REVUE

PUNK ROCK BLUES

Britain’s Jim Jones Revue, who made their American debut at this year’s SXSW music festival, strips rock’n’roll down to its essential elements. Former lead singer of the legendary garage band Thee Hypnotics Jim Jones (vocals, guitar) is joined by Rupert Orton (lead guitar), Elliot Mortimer (keys), Gavin Jay (bass) and Nick Jones (drums). Recorded live in 08 in one straight 48 hour session, this self-titled album features loud, dirty, howling vocals ala Little Richard, rapid-fire rhythms and tempos, driving guitars and scorching piano. Delivered with the fire-and-brimstone of an evangelical preacher leading a tent revival, Jim Jones conjures up all that is good, great and badass about rock’n’roll. This album is a must have. – Written by JFelton
