With a name like State Champion, you know you’re not going to get sensitive shoegazers or experimental art-pop. This Louisville band’s style of “garage country” is loud, unapologetic, and a bit rough around the edges. But do you really want to hear country music that is overly produced and polished? I didn’t think so. Singer-songwriter Ryan Davis and the rest of State Champion play fast, rowdy country music that gets your heart racing. Listening to Stale Champagne, there is so much energy in the songs that you can tell these guys should be heard live.
