Tom Schraeder & His Ego – The Door, The Gutter, The Grave and Lying Through Dinner

  • January 29, 2009

While I’m new to Tom Schraeder’s music, many critics and enthusiasts have taken notice and heaped high praise. Schraeder is a burgeoning Americana twinged singer-songwriter from Chicago who pens songs that are honest, soulful, expansive, and at times rowdy. Although his influences are wide ranging and evident in his work, Schraeder manages to escape imitation with complex melodies, arrangements and intelligent, thoughtful songwriting. Releases to date include The Door, The Gutter, The Grave and Lying Through Dinner, both of which are immediately charming, leaving new listeners anticipating more.
