Dr. Dog – Shame, Shame

  • March 26, 2010

Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog, known for their DIY pop aesthetics that blend 60’s style pop with lo-fi recording techniques, make their Anti-Records debut with Shame, Shame. Recorded with producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith), the album takes inspiration from their live performances rather than shedding the vibe in the studio as on past releases. Shame, Shame – the band’s most openly autobiographical release to date – is an album whose dark themes are soothed by bright harmonies, taut guitar riffs, and soaring melodies. Shame, Shame is more accessible and will introduce Dr. Dog to a wider audience while continuing to garner accolades from both critics and fans. This is a must listen. – Written by JFelton
