The Limes are a transcontinental group based mainly in Paris and North Carolina. Think The Postal Service, but with European flair. Members Mina Tindle, David Simonetta (Toy Fight), Brent Ballantyne, Orouni, and John Hale sent music back and forth for each person to add to and record. The happy result is The Limes’ self-titled debut – a collection of charming, poppy, retro-tinged songs that recall Belle & Sebastian and Arthur & Yu. It shouldn’t be a surprise that given the nature of the band, the album lacks a strong, coherent sound. But for the most part, The Limes is a delight to listen to. – Written by DBosket
