Allen Thompson – 26 Years

  • April 14, 2010

Virginia-based singer-songwriter Allen Thompson’s third full-length returns to simpler song structures and totally acoustic driven sound with help from two young Nashville talents, Josh Matheny (dobro) and Charlie Worsham (banjo, mandolin) and others talents. The result, 26 Years, is a polished ten track album of soulful, gospel-flavored back-porch tunes. The opening track “Forgive Me” establishes the overall theme of redemption, determination and revival, but the real showcase is Thompson’s soulful vocals, heart and conviction on an low-key but very likable release. – Written by JFelton
