Together, the new release from the New Pornographers, sees the band returning to a bigger, power pop sound more akin to 05’s Twin Cinema. While Challengers (07) was a little softer, Together turns up the tempo and places Neko Case’s vocals in the forefront more than we’ve heard in the past. These are all good things. The Vancouver septet continues to write consistently great songs that brim with optimism and have enough bends and turns to make this an album that reveals more and more with each listen. – Written by DBosket
