I’m a little late in coming to the indie rock quintet Arizona – Alex Hornbake (bass, vocals), Andrew Dunn (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Ben Wigler (vocals, guitar, piano), James DeDakis (drums, vocals, sax, dulcimer), and Nick Campbell (vocals, guitar, drums, piano, vibraphone) – they originally hail from Brooklyn, NY and are now located in Asheville, NC. Glowing Bird is lush indie pop with creative instrumentation, playful arrangements while lead-singer Wigler’s lissome vocals gently flowing through the music. Arizona’s songs are deceptively simple, but upon discerning listen reveal inventive and catchy songs with complex layers and textures.
