The Roe Family Singers are a Minneapolis eight-piece band that blends old-time music with indie sensibilities into sparse, subtly beautiful arrangements which underscore the vocals of Kim and Quillan Roe. A unique attribute is the musical saw which sets the mood of the murder ballads, ghost stories and tales of desperation. Also contributing to the eerie sound is traditional instrumentation that includes guitar, fiddle, bass, washboard, jug, banjo, autoharp and dobro.
