Alela Diane – About Farewell

  • October 26, 2013

The latest release from Portland, OR based songstress Alela Diane, About Farewell, is a plaintive, introspective album that evolved out of the demise of her marriage to Wild Divine member Tom Bevitori (Denver). Diane’s beautiful alto floats alongside sparse acoustic guitar, adding a personal and honest feeling to the album. While best known as a freak-folk rocker, this time Diane takes a more somber tone. Standouts on this collection of ten short tracks include the stunning opener “Colorado Blue”, the gently keyed piano of “Nothing I Can Do”, and the lyrical closer “Rose & Thorn”. About Farewell is a very stirring and poignant album. – Written by JFelton
