Los Angeles quartet Allah-Las met while working at Amoeba Records and have been steadily gaining buzz since their inaugural 45 release on guitarist/singer/producer Nick Waterhouse’s label Pre Records in 2008. With their newest LP Don’t You Forget It the Allah-Las expertly take the sounds of the past – 1960’s surf-rock vibes and vintage garage rock and fuzz-folk sounds – and make them fresh again. What makes the Allah-Las standout from many retro-inspired bands is their authentic recreation of the times and mastery of their tools, creating astoundingly engaging music.
