Amanda Anne Platt And The Honeycutters – Amanda Anne Platt And The Honeycutters

  • September 6, 2017

Asheville, NC Americana band The Honeycutters are back, this time in a new formation with vocalist Amanda Anne Platt featured as the lead and Tai Taylor gone (mandolin). Longtime members Evan Martin (keys, electric guitar), Matt Smith (pedal steel, electric guitar), Rick Cooper (bass), and Josh Milligan (drums/harmony vocals) round out the formidable five-piece on their eponymously titled LP. Their fifth release was co-produced by Platt and bluegrass pro Tim Surrett (Balsam Range) and the 13 tracks feature finely polished country roots. Album highlights include: opener “Birthday Song”; the catchy “Diamond in the Rough”; and the heartrending centerpieces “Learning How To Love Him” and “Brand New Start.” With 2016’s spectacular On the Ropes launching Amanda Anne Platt and The Honeycutters into the national spotlight, be sure to catch them on their US tour while you can. – Written by SMarx
