American Aquarium – Burn. Flicker. Die.

  • October 8, 2012

The title track off of Raleigh, NC based American Aquarium’s latest album Burn. Flicker. Die. sums the album up nicely: “We burn too long then flicker and die.” The songs feature tales of hard times, bad decisions, disappointments, small town living and life on the road all set to gruff vocals, bluesy guitars, hard core pedal steel and dynamic keys. The album was produced by Jason Isbell, mixed by Chris Stamey and features guest spots from Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown) and Spooner Oldham. Standouts tracks include “Jacksonville”, “Savannah Almost Killed Me”, “Lonely Ain’t Easy” and finally “Saturday Nights.” Burn. Flicker. Die. is a catchy countrified rock record that shows continued growth and depth in great band! – Written by JFelton
