The Beets have been around for four years and their newest album, Let the Poison Out, is their first on the Hardly Art label. These Ramones wannabes aren’t so much imitators as they are devotees to garage punk, and it sounds like they have hit their stride with their latest drummer, Chie Mori. While they still indulge in infectious sing-alongs and simple melodies, they do so with wit and humor, and this time around it is all recorded to tape by Gary Olson (Ladybug Transistor).
