The Black Keys – El Camino

  • December 20, 2011

I’ve been a huge fan of The Black Keys since their 2002 debut release The Big Come Up, followed by the sublime Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory. The insanely gifted duo of Dan Auerbach (guitar/vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums) are finally reaping the rewards of musical eminence, including three Grammy’s for last year’s Brothers, and with their newest release, El Camino, are sure to orbit into superstardom. Fans have already heard catchy promo single “Lonely Boy” on radio air play (“Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting”), and the rest of the ten tracks produced by Danger Mouse are just as strong. “El Camino” is the most straightforward classic rock collection in their discography, and it works exceptionally well. In fact, this is one of the best albums of the year, hands-down. Pick-up El Camino and then catch them this spring as they embark on the U.S. leg of their tour. – Written by JFelton
