Canadian boyfriend/girlfriend duo Alexander Cowan and Raphaelle Standel-Preston are Blue Hawaii, and they are out with a new full-length, Untogether. As the title implies, the two were in different geographical locations (Cowan having moved to Europe and Standel-Preston on the road with her pop band BRAIDS) while trying to write an album and maintain a long-distance relationship. What results is an intimate and atmospheric 11 track record, steeped in nuanced complexity and harboring undertones of sadness for their separation.
