Alt-country Texas band Centro-matic has been making music together for fifteen years, and their tenth release, Candidate Waltz, shows the four guys in fine form. Their experience and cohesiveness shine through, with wonderfully solid and infectious classic pop. Scott Solter (Spoon, Mountain Goats) and drummer Matt Pence aided the group with recording and production, as Candidate Waltz took a few years to come into being due to numerous, high profile side projects of lead Will Johnson including Monsters of Folk, The Undertow Orchestra, and backing duties for Patterson Hood (Drive-by Truckers).
