Prolific Minnesota based musician Charlie Parr is out with a fantastic full band album, Stumpjumper. The talented fingerpicker (guitar, banjo, dobro) recorded ten originals and one cover of a traditional folk song with producer Phil Cook (Megafaun). The backing band brings another level of vitality to Parr’s compositions, adding another dimension to his songwriting and storytelling through percussion, guitar, fiddle, and electric bass. Standouts include: the longing of “Over the Red Cedar”; the poignant “Resurrection”; and the catchy foot stomper, “Frank Miller Blues.” – Written by JFelton
