Colleen Rennison – See The Sky About To Rain

  • September 29, 2014

Vancouver actress/musician Colleen Rennison is the lead singer of the boozy blues rock band, No Sinner, and she recently released her first solo album, the country-tinged See The Sky About To Rain. The album produced was by Steve Dawson (Kelly Joe Phelps, Old Man Luedecke, Deep Dark Woods) as part of a week-long recording blitz: five artists / five albums recorded live in Vancouver and Nashville, each backed by session musicians. See The Sky About To Rain is a collection of covers that Dawson and Rennison cherry picked 12 premier singer/songwriters including tracks from: The Band’s “Stage Fright”, Leonard Cohen’s “Why Don’t You Try”, Joni Mitchell’s “Coyote”, Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freightliner”, Booker T’s “My Crew”, Bobbie Gentry’s “Fancy”, and Neil Young’s title track. All-in-all, See The Sky About To Rain is a stellar collection well worth seeking out. – Written by JFelton
