Corb Lund – Cabin Fever

  • November 28, 2012

Alberta native and Juno award winning singer/songwriter Corb Lund is often described as a Canadian cowboy, and his seventh album Cabin Fever showcases his characteristically sharp and witty take on classic country and honky tonk with a rock attitude. The twelve tracks were mostly written in Lund’s remote cabin in the Rock Mountains following the end of a relationship and death of a family member, with other parts composed during travel to New York City, Austin, and Las Vegas. With his longtime band The Hurtin Albertans at his side, Lund turns out a set of songs that range thematically from home, travels, love to goth girls, antique pistols and alcohol, all of which are catchy and thoroughly enjoyable. Top tracks include opener “Gettin’ Down On the Mountain”, a duet with Hayes Carll “Bible On The Dash”, and “(You Ain’t A Cowboy) If You Ain’t Been Bucked Off.” – Written by SMarx
