Danny and The Champions of the World – Hearts and Arrows

  • March 6, 2012

The appeal of Americana transcends geography, and longtime musician – Londoner Danny Wilson – has once again created a compelling interpretation of Bruce Springsteen’s heartland rock and roll. Hearts & Arrows features Wilson’s characteristically autobiographical lyrics, emotional resonance, themes of struggle and hope and anthemic aspirations. This time around, The Champions of the World are comprised of an entirely new line-up, accompanied by producer Tony Poole and mixer Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Lucero). While Wilson cites punk bands and country rockers like Black Flag, Bad Brains, Tom Petty and Thin Lizzy as references, Hearts & Arrows is blue-collar Americana through and through. Top tracks include opener “Ghosts in the Wire”, “Colonel and the King”, and closer “Walk With Me.” – Written by JFelton
