Dark Dark Dark – Who Needs Who

  • October 7, 2012

Minneapolis based indie folk band Dark Dark Dark is known for their unique blend of New Orleans jazz, Americana and Eastern European folk. Their latest album, Who Needs Who was primarily written by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Nona Marie Invie after a breakup with co-founder/producer Marshall LaCount last year. The album was then arranged by the band on tour and in New Orleans, where acclaimed engineer Tom Herbers (Low, The Jayhawks) joined them for the recording. The album starts with a piano ballad turned New Orleans jazz ensemble, filled with energy and life before settling into a quieter, introspective and intimate songs set in minor keys. Who Needs Who is yet another beautifully, impassioned set of songs from Dark Dark Dark. – Written by JFelton
