David Olney – Film Noir

  • June 16, 2011

Nashville is not a city that typically inspires film noir – a Hollywood crime drama filmed in black and white – but David Olney is not your typical Nashville musician. A stalwart since the 70’s and an influential player in the local underground folk/country scene, Olney is best known for his edgy blues and folk. However on his mini album David Olney Presents: Film Noir (the first in a series of upcoming releases), Olney immerses gritty characters in the dark shadows of a city of mysteries and casualties. Take a listen to this well-crafted collection of original tracks. – Written by JFelton
