Dawes – All Your Favorite Bands

  • August 9, 2015

Dawes pulls out all the stops for their albums, relocating to specific studios and working with lauded producers on their long-play efforts. This time the four piece headed to East Nashville’s Woodland Hills Studios under the production of Dave Rawlings (Gillian Welch, Old Crow Medicine Show). The result, All Your Favorite Bands, is a warm collection of finely tuned 70’s Laurel Canyon folk rock with southern flourishes. The values are outstanding, replicating their live sound, making for an intimate listening experience. Standouts include: the opening track “Things Happen”; the soulful “Don’t Send Me Away”; the gospel tinged “I Can’t Think About It Now”; and the atmospheric closer “Now That It’s Too Late, Maria.” All Your Favorite Bands is a stellar addition to the Dawes discography and one of their best releases to date. – Written by JFelton
