L.A. folk-rock band Dawes draws upon the legacy of their locale, mining the Laurel Canyon country-folk sounds of the 70’s on their second album Nothing is Wrong. The band shows steady development and fine-tuning, turning out beautiful melodies and rich instrumentation. And adding credence to their endeavor is Jackson Browne, who provides backing vocals on the track “Fire Away.” Thematically the songs are about relationships and the lonesome life of touring on the road for long stretches of time. Nothing is Wrong is a lovely album; standouts include “Fire Away”, “Time Spent in Los Angeles”, and “My Way Back Home.” – Written by JFelton
