SoCal multi-instrumentalists Delta Spirit have released their spectacular eponymously titled third album on Rounder Records, and it finds the folk rockers boldly proclaiming their latest evolution as their signature sound. Produced by Chris Coady (Beach House, TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Delta Spirit segues away from Americana folk with occasional rock riffs into full-on modern rock territory, even incorporating electronica and synths. The band finds solid footing on this more focused vision, resulting in a tight, consistent set of songs.
