Elk and Boar is a new indie folk and soul band hailing from Tacoma, WA. What started out as a side project for Kirsten Wenlock and Travis Barker (not to be confused with the Blink 182 drummer of the same name) ended up as a band and full-length CD, Room to Start. The duo have been running fast ever since, playing at SXSW this past March as well as the 1band1brand as emerging artist showcase. Wenlock, who as a teen toured on a pop gospel label brings evocative vocals while Barker, whose previous gig as leader of house band The Black Sails brings contrasting vocals and steady guitar.
