Philadelphia band Free Energy is getting ready to release their sophomore effort Love Sign in the new year. This time the five piece forgo the 70’s guitar rock found on 2010’s Stuck on Nothing for anthemic 80’s pop inspired by the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Talking Heads or Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen. Produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Cyndi Lauper) and record in NY, the songs are energetic and rife with signature pop moves, from carefree guitar jams to power ballads.
