Hacienda – Shakedown

  • July 31, 2012

Following 2010’s successful Big Red and Barbacoa, San Antonio, TX four-piece Hacienda is out with their third full length, Shakedown. Once again produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The many collaborations with Auerbach, including a 2009 stint as his backing band, have influenced their live shows and sound, and Shakedown is a definitive step in a heavy rock ‘n’ roll direction. The 60’s infused harmonic sounds are gone and in their place are bass laden, guitar driven, unvarnished rock. This Mexican-American family ensemble – cousins Abraham Villanueva (piano, vocals) and Dante Schwebel (guitar, vocals) together with Abraham’s brothers Jaime (drums, vocals) and Rene Villanueva (bass, vocals) – prove that they are a musical force to be reckoned with, and Shakedown is going to bring them well-deserved fame. – Written by SMarx
