Hayden – Us Alone

  • April 2, 2013

Canadian singer/songwriter Hayden (a.k.a. Paul Hayden Desser) has been polishing his brand of intimate, brooding and bittersweet music over the course of seven albums spanning back to the mid-90’s. His latest, Us Alone, is a deeply personal album with stripped down folk-rock arrangements alongside poignant and mature storytelling. Over the course of the eight tracks Hayden reflects upon his life with a sense of poetry, humor, and self-awareness. Standouts include: the haunting opener “Motel”, the story of infidelity “Just Give Me a Name”, the charming autobiographical “Instructions” which outlines what to do upon his death. Us Alone is a warm and tender album that highlights Hayden’s vivid and captivating songwriting. – Written by JFelton
