The Honeycutters – Me Oh My

  • November 15, 2015

Asheville, NC quintet The Honeycutters’ third album, Me Oh My, was produced by band leader Amanda Platt who sings lead vocals functioned as the primary songwriter. While Platt may be the driving force behind The Honeycutters, she is accompanied by an accomplished supporting band: Tal Taylor (mandolin), Rick Cooper (bass), Josh Milligan (drums) and Matt Smith (guitar and pedal steel). Me Oh My is a collection fourteen Americana, bluegrass, country tinged songs in the vain of Gillian Welch, Eilen Jewell and Zoe Muth. Standouts include: the country swing track “Jukebox”; the ballad “Texas ’81”; the reflective “Edge of the Frame”; the heavy hearted “Little Bird”; and soulful and title track. Me Oh My is a smart, literate Americana album skillfully executed by a group of talented musicians – definitely a band to keep an eye on. – Written by JFelton
