Jordan Geiger (formerly of Shearwater, and Appleseed Cast) has ventured into a solo project, Hospital Ships, and his sophomore record Lonely Twin is a great burst of indie pop. The influence of psych pop masters The Flaming Lips and indie folk rockers Bright Eyes can be heard, but what really stands out is Geiger’s bolder expressions. Whether it is fuller orchestral elements, electronic beats, hazy guitars or vocals, Geiger steps his game up and it shows.
