The Sun Will Burn Our Eyes is the first solo release from Salt Lake City, UT’s Band of Annuals’ lead singer Jay William Henderson. Henderson’s music is beautifully textured, complete with warm tones; experimental arrangements; soaring orchestrations composed of acoustic guitars, organs, keys, horns, and pedal steel; and elegant backup vocals. The nine tracks (which includes a reprise) are melancholy and introspective, with Henderson’s smoky, smooth voice weaving tales of tangled lives and evoking beautiful landscapes at sundown. The Sun Will Burn Our Eyes is one of the most captivating listens I’ve had in awhile and well worth checking out. – Written by JFelton
