The Jim Jones Revue – Burning Your House Down

  • October 12, 2011

The notoriously loud and raucous East London five-piece The Jim Jones Revue has finally released their full-length Burning Your House Down here in the States. Produced by Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Sonic Youth, The Cramps), this latest effort keeps frontman Jones’ (formerly of Thee Hypnotics) signature yelps, howls and all-out antics while residing firmly in 1950’s rock and roll and 1960’s blues (think Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis). Reveling in 12-bar blues and boogie, the band powers through the 14 tracks with full throttle energy, volume and distortion that is nothing less than highly infectious. The band recently had to cancel their planned US tour due to illness, but once it is rescheduled, don’t hesitate – just go see them live. – Written by SMarx
