JP Harris and The Tough Choices – I’ll Keep Calling

  • July 24, 2012

Nashville’s JP Harris & The Tough Choices play great traditional country on their debut, I’ll Keep Calling. Harris, who has travelled across the country riding the rails, working odd jobs and playing standards among camps and hobos, fine-tuned his country songs of heartbreak along the way. What results is an authentic brand of country that incorporates strands of honky-tonk, rockabilly and even a touch of swing. Rhythm is provided by members of the Red Stick Ramblers along with guitar support by Asa Brosius (pedal steel) and Chris Hartway (guitar). Notable among the twelve songs are “Country-Goddamned-Music”, “Gear Jammin’ Daddy,” and the title track. – Written by JFelton
