Justin Townes Earle – Absent Fathers

  • February 16, 2015

Absent Fathers is the companion piece to Justin Townes Earle’s late 2014 release, Single Mothers. Whereas Single Mothers was written from the point of view of a woman coping with her husband’s/father’s irresponsible life choices, Absent Father tries to make sense of a father’s life choices and his inability recognize the pain he’s caused his family that he left behind. A few highlights include: the country doo-wop tune “When the One You Love Loses Faith”; the mournful country of “Slow Monday”; the moody R&B track “Call Ya Momma”, and the Memphis-inspired blues rocker “Round The Bend.” – Written by JFelton
