Kevin Gordon – Long Gone Time

  • November 23, 2015

Nashville based Kevin Gordon follows-up his excellent 2012 release Gloryland with Long Gone Time – another set of rustic ramblers featuring the top-notch storytelling that has garnered fans like luminaries Buddy Miller and Lucinda Williams. Long Gone Time was recorded in Gordon’s home state of Louisiana and takes on a hazy southern rock vibe that meanders through both acoustic and electric tracks. Album highlights include: the sweaty rocker “GTO”; the bluesy “Memphis in the Meantime”; the slow grooving “Letter to Shreveport”; the poignant reflection “Goodbye Brownie Ford”; the bittersweet ode “Crowville”; and the vivid depictions of southern life on “Johnny Horton on the Radio” and “Walking on The Levee.” Gordon is a longtime favorite musician, and on Long Gone Time he does not disappoint. – Written by JFelton
