The Leisure Society – Alone Abroad The Ark

  • February 26, 2013

Alone Abroad The Ark, the latest full-length release from British group The Leisure Society, is a more expansive orchestral folk follow-up to 2011’s Into The Murky Water. Original members Nick Hemming and Christian Hardy are back with a multitude of instruments, this time incorporating layered synths and inspired by poet Sylvia Plath. Recorded at Kinks frontman Ray Davies‘ Konk Studios on vintage equipment, Alone Abroad the Ark showcases a maturing band that is fully coming into their own Baroque folk-pop sound. Local fans can catch them on tour in the UK in April. – Written by SMarx
