The Two Man Gentlemen Band – Two at a Time

  • June 6, 2012

The Two Man Gentleman Band – a.k.a. Andy Bean (tenor guitar) and Fuller Condon (upright bass) – are out with their latest homage to 50’s American roots music, Two at a Time. Armed with just the two instruments, their powerful voices, clever and irreverent lyrics, and some serious cred as excellent entertainers, the duo pull together 10 originals steeped in jazz and western swing and 2 covers of Lil Hardin Armstrong and Jack Guthrie. The only anachronistic thing about the production was the Kickstarter campaign, which allowed the gents to record straight to analog tape using 1940s/50s microphones as well as to produce handmade linotype printed artwork. Not only do Bean and Condon excel at what they do, they do so with wit and charm, indulging in themes of love, drink, and good eats – check out “Cheese & Crackers”, “Pork Chops”, and “Tikka Masala.” – Written by SMarx
