Margo Price – All American Made

  • December 28, 2017

Margo Price’s first album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, was an intense labor of love that became one of the most widely acclaimed country albums of 2016. Now Price is back with All American Made, which find Price broadening her sound and moving on from her autobiographical debut to a more politically motivated statement about the times we live in. Standout tracks include: the rockabilly opener “Don’t Say It”; the barroom swing of “Weakness”; the Willie Nelson duet on “Learning to Lose”; “Pay Gap” which takes on gender inequality; the laid-back funk of “Cocaine Cowboys”; the Memphis soul touched “A Little Pain”; the gospel tune backed by the McCrary Sisters, “Do Right by Me;” and last but not least, the title/closing track. Margo Price is an outstanding musician and performer and her sophomore album finely showcases just that. – Written by JFelton
