Meursault – Something for the Weakened

  • August 7, 2012

Edinburgh septet Meursault is out with their third full-length of melancholy indie folk-rock, Something for the Weakened. This time around the sound is less lo-fi and primarily acoustic thanks to two major changes – frontman Neil Pennycook’s laptop breaks, pushing the band beyond electronica, and the band records in the studio. Here Meursault finds the perfect amount of polish on the collection of ten songs. Meursault keeps audiences guessing with something new and creative, and Something for the Weakened delivers with standouts like the reworked “Lament For a Teenage Millionaire” and closer “Untitled.” – Written by JFelton
