Of Montreal, named after a failed romance with a woman from the namesake region, is coming out with their eleventh album, Paralytic Stalks on February 7th. The release coincides with the limited edition career retrospective Cassette Box Set, which follows the band from their 1997 debut of Brit psych pop Cherry Peel to 2010’s rock oriented psych pop album False Priest. Originally part of the Elephant 6 collective of 1990’s American indie bands which started in Denver and later migrated to Athens, GA, Of Montreal has explored a variety of styles over the years, including psych rock, indie-pop, glam-rock, funk, and R&B.
