Mystery Jets – Radlands

  • June 25, 2012

Recently there has been a rash of British bands recording Americana sounds like folk rockers Dry the River and Motown inspired Spectrals and the latest are south Londoners, Mystery Jets. Recorded in Austin, the quartet’s fourth release, Radlands, is a concept album about musician Emerson Lonestar who wanders through the American badlands in and out of relationships. The band has been on its own journey, with members Kai Fish and Henry Harrison departing, and the rest of the Mystery Jets forgoing the quirky synth pop and rock of their last few endeavors for pure country blues. Check out top tracks “Greatest Hits”, “The Nothing”, and a duet with Harrison’s partner Sophie-Rose Harper, “Take Me Where The Roses Grow.” – Written by SMarx
