The Orwells – Remember When

  • August 8, 2012

They’ve been compared to The Strokes, both in origins and sound, and Chicago teenage rockers The Orwells are proving that their raw, rebellious rock is the next best thing. Having jammed together since middle school, the five-piece has developed a could-care-less attitude and snarling punk delivery on their debut full length, Remember When. The tracks, which are influenced by The Strokes as well as The Ramones, The Replacements and The Stooges, range from pumped-up to slow burners about adolescent life in all its angst. For a preview of this up and coming group, check out standouts “Mallrats (La La La La)” and “Ancient Egypt.” – Written by SMarx
